I've started watering my lawn and trees, and getting things cleaned up for spring. I am, as I said in the last post, going to do container gardening this year. The front yard is cooler in the summer and it's easier for me to water there. <span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The back yard is too big and too hard to take care of. I will water there with sprinklers once a week and keep the bird waters full.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I am going to plant tomatoes, flowers, and some wildflowers also. Can't wait! But I am waiting a little longer because we could still have a frost, even snow. dixon48http://www.blogger.com/profile/07794123283352377248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-804806638777893914.post-70317127139167835952011-07-04T09:13:00.000-07:002011-07-04T09:13:55.229-07:00Is The Monsoon Here?We have lost so much in our state, due to forest fires. I wonder about the animals who've lost their habitat, and pray for those who lost their homes.
This week, every day, there has been rain in the distance, but none right here. It is hard to smell rain, hear thunder, see lightening, but have not one drop! I haven't done a rain dance yet, but plenty of prayers!!!
I will be outside, rejoicing, when we finally get a downpour right here!! My plants will do a silent celebration by growing about 6 inches overnight! There's something about rain that works miracles for the garden. Forgotten seeds start growing, Morning Glories bloom, and I can't wait!
In the meantime, I appreciate that everybody has taken precautions with fireworks on this holiday. One stray bottle rocket could spell disaster.
Happy 4th of July everyone!!dixon48http://www.blogger.com/profile/07794123283352377248noreply@blogger.com0
